Our Advanced Hardwood Floor Sanding Technology
At Lake Hardwood Flooring Refinishing, we rely on the latest and most advanced technology to sand your hardwood floors. Our specialized Lagler TRIO, a three-disc sanding machine, is at the forefront of the flooring industry. This powerful machine excels at a variety of tasks, from perfecting prefinished wood floors to fine, intermediate, and heavy sanding. It’s also ideal for floor polishing and subfloor treatment during hardwood floor installation. Whether you’re renovating solid wood, engineered, cork, or stained floors, this machine guarantees a smooth, even finish. Additionally, it is effective for dry treatment of screed and sub-floors, delivering flawless results every time.
Post-Sanding Floor Care Guide
Airflow and Rugs
Successful stabilization of your new surface requires a 14 day window of unhindered oxygen exchange. Unlike some flooring companies we insist that area rugs and mats are not placed on the hardwood flooring during this interval. Obstructing the release of curing vapors can lead to permanent cloudy patches in the finish that are difficult to correct once they settle into the wood grain.
Shoes and Pets
Access in clean hosiery is permitted 24 hours after the hardwood floor refinishing is complete. However you must avoid the use of exterior shoes and restrict pet activity for a minimum of seven days. This restriction is vital because the protective layer remains tender during the early stages of the floor refinishing process and is susceptible to micro-scratches from grit.
Water and Mops
Maintain a strictly dry environment for at least 10 days after the service is finished. Our flooring installers suggest using only electrostatic dry mops to remove dust. Steam appliances and water based detergents can disrupt the chemical bond of the finish before it reaches full resistance which can compromise the long term results of your floor installation.
Humidity and Pads
To support the ongoing stability of your timber we recommend maintaining a relative humidity between 35 and 55 percent. Professional floor contractors and flooring contractors emphasize that wood is a living material that reacts to moisture. Using high quality felt protectors on all furniture legs once the initial curing stage is finished will prevent point pressure damage to the surface.
